Position Details:
- Job Title: Forklift Driver (SPIN Material Handler)
- Location: Canaan, CT
- Shift: A Shift – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate powered industrial forklifts in both warehouse and production environments
- Move pallets, load/unload trailers, and transport bulk materials efficiently
- Support production lines with materials and assist in manual product handling
- Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all BD safety procedures
- Maintain clean and safe workspaces and assist in general housekeeping
- Perform quality inspections, complete logs, and participate in shift communication
- Handle manual documentation and digital systems (e.g., SAP, Excel)
- Be flexible to work overtime as business needs demand
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED (required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
- Minimum 6 months of manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
- Comfortable lifting 20–50 lbs regularly, working on your feet, and handling warehouse equipment
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP a plus)
Work Environment:
- High-speed manufacturing setting with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
- Physical activity and PPE usage (e.g., safety shoes and safety glasses) required
- Work inside and occasionally outside in varying weather conditions
