Position Details:

  • Job Title: Maintenance Operative
  • Location: Worthing & surrounding West/Mid-Sussex sites
  • Contract: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
  • Salary: £28,137 per year
  • Driving Licence: Required

Your Role:
You’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming. You will carry out both preventive and reactive maintenance, from small fixes to larger repairs, across various properties and buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on buildings and equipment
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Carry out repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Keep maintenance logs and inventory records up to date
  • Coordinate with colleagues and external contractors for larger projects
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
  • Support new maintenance procedures and improvement initiatives

About You:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Skilled with tools, repairs, and general property upkeep
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team
  • A valid driver’s license is essential
  • Floor-laying experience (e.g., carpet, lino, laminate) is a bonus, not essential
